BOOK REVIEW

Inferno : Review

'' The darkest places of hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in moral crisis''.

Set mainly in the picturesque town of Florence in Italy, with the whole book dancing around the country of Dante Alighieri's origin, Dan Brown's 'Inferno' promises to change your perspective about many things. When Langdon (the protagonist) wakes up in a hospital, with a gunshot wound to his head and no recollection of the past two days, Langdon, along with the young and resourceful Doctor Sienna Brooks, has to find out what happened and also locate the virus before it kills half of the population if released.

It's a factual fiction which takes the reader through an amazing journey of words that build the scene in your mind. It's a perfect blend of mythology and science. The way it creates suspense and leaves the reader on a cliffhanger at the end of every chapter, is just mind-blowing. The virus was said to be created by Bertrand Zobrist, a trans-humanist who believed the world is in danger of collapse due to overpopulation. The way Sienna and Langdon tackle their way through mythological clues and the use the map of hell to find the virus and save the people is very engaging and doesn't let you keep the book down.
